Finley FFA members recently traveled to Pullman, Washington, to participate in the 2026 Washington State FFA Convention held May 13–16. Throughout the convention, members competed in Career Development Events (CDEs) and Leadership Development Events (LDEs), attended leadership workshops, and represented Finley FFA with pride.
In the Prepared Public Speaking Leadership Development Event,
Soren Miles, Ava Teagle, and Trell Miles showcased their public speaking skills by delivering prepared speeches before judges.
Myles Gore served as the Finley FFA Chapter Delegate, representing the chapter during convention business sessions and helping conduct official state FFA business.
The Finley FFA F.A.R.M. Team, consisting of
Hailey Herrin, Soren Miles, and Ava Teagle, showcased their ag day at the elementary lessons to judges.
Finley FFA also received recognition for its outstanding chapter program. The chapter's National Chapter Award application earned a Superior Chapter rating and placed 6th overall in Washington State, advancing the chapter to national competition this fall.

Soren Miles earned individual recognition by placing 3rd overall in the state in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking Leadership Development Event.
Several members experienced their first state convention competition this year.
Sawyer Los, Brantley Holden, and Connor Boyce represented Finley FFA in the First-Year Member Competition, gaining valuable experience and leadership skills.
The Food Science Career Development Event team placed 28th in the state. Team members included
Ava Teagle, Trell Miles Kalina Bush, Hailey Herrin, and Mya Steagall.
The Agricultural Sales Career Development Event team placed 24th in the state. Team members included
Ava Teagle, Trell Miles, June Teagle, and Soren Miles.
Throughout the convention, members participated in leadership workshops, networked with FFA members from across Washington, and gained valuable experiences that will help them continue to grow as leaders.
