
Finley FFA member Soren Miles attended the annual Legislative Breakfast on November 19th at Tri-Tech Skills Center, joining Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) members from schools across the region. The event brought together students, legislators, CTE directors, superintendents, and CTE educators to highlight the importance and impact of Career and Technical Education in Washington State.

The breakfast focused on elevating student voices and sharing stories about how CTE classes and CTSO involvement shape students’ futures. Attendees from Legislative Districts 8, 14, 15, and 16 enjoyed a meal prepared by culinary students while listening to firsthand accounts of how CTE programs build real-world skills and career pathways. Speakers emphasized the continued need for strong funding and support to keep these programs thriving for students statewide.
Representing Finley FFA and River View High School, Soren Miles spoke passionately about his experiences in agricultural education and FFA. He shared how hands-on learning, leadership opportunities, and exposure to agricultural careers have influenced his goals and helped him discover a meaningful direction for his future.
Finley FFA is proud of Soren for stepping forward to advocate for agricultural education and for representing the chapter with professionalism and heart.
