
On January 10th, 2025, Region 8 FCCLA hosted a highly successful Competitive STAR Events day, showcasing the hard work, talent, and leadership of students across our region. This year’s event featured 20 unique competitions with participation from 13 schools, bringing together a total of 141 students at Columbia Basin College. Of these, 60 students competed in STAR Events, while 59 students served in supportive roles as evaluators, room monitors, and rubric managers.
Student Achievements Region 8 following results from the day:
- Gold Awards: 11 teams/individuals
- Silver Awards: 12 teams/individuals
- Bronze Awards: 14 teams/individuals
Congratulations to Makenzie Chavez, Makenzie Mills, and Victoria Marshall for earning a GOLD placing at FCCLA STAR events and advancing on to the state competition in March 4-7 in Spokane.
These results highlight the incredible dedication and effort of the competing students and their advisors. The supportive roles played by student volunteers were equally critical, ensuring the event ran smoothly and professionally.
