The new school year started off on an exciting route as the new FCCLA officers met and caught up during the Officer Retreat on August 21st, where officers were able to work and discuss events and plans for the year. We enjoyed breakfast and snacks brought by our members, such as donuts, biscuits, gravy, cookies, and Rice Crispy Treats. Officers reflected back on their summer, as well as got a recap on FCCLA trivia and created a puzzle.
On August 31st, we welcomed new and old members for our first FCCLA meeting of the year. New members were welcomed with a free ticket for snow cones after school handed out by Victoria Marshall (Photographer) and members Yasmine Zuniga and Logan Allano-Perez. We recapped last year while also starting on new business, such as Makenzie Chavez (Treasurer) organizing and reporting Treasurer reports. We also discussed and planned the Blood Drive on September 21st and decided for Jade Sisson and Garrett Dothage (Historian) as the Blood Drive Coordinators. Permission slips were handed out to attend the field trip on September 2nd to the Ropes Course for some team building with SADD and FFA.
We are very excited to welcome our new FCCLA members and start off the new school year with many ideas and determination to make changes. We can’t wait to show new members old traditions, welcome them to the FCCLA family, and welcome new changes as a whole this year.
