For almost all of September, River View was preparing and spreading the word for the Blood Drive.

On September 21st, volunteers arrived with baked goods and helped set up. Thank you to the following individuals for helping volunteer, escort, and/or make goodies:

  • Makenzie Chavez
  • Alexis Lopez
  • Victoria Marshall
  • Orovi Suarez
  • Jade Sisson
  • Garrett Dothage
  • Zoey Bussell
  • McKenna Stamson
  • Sandra Rodriguez
  • Avery Hovarth
  • Elizabeth Mendoza

We appreciate everyone who donated for the Blood Drive and our new FCCLA members who are willing to learn and help our community!

FCCLA at the concession standWe continue to welcome new FCCLA members!  Newcomers have been signing up to work the concessions and learn from their fellow officers. The concession stand at football games was not the only way FCCLA earned more money; we also managed to sell a total of 130 butter braids!

On October 10th, members Jade Sisson, Garrett Dothage, Victoria Marshall, Mackenzie Chavez, Elizabeth Mendoza and Kendall Chavez attended the FCCLA Fall Conference.  Members learned about healthy relationships and how to drive safely on the road.  There, Jade Sisson won one of the gift baskets!  Some members began to prepare their project for the next conference already.
FCCLA set up ropes
8 members participated in ropes course team building with SADD. It was a good experience for all.

Members soon plan to visit nursing homes more often this year including for the holidays. We also plan on baking goodies for Mikey’s Chance and possibly “Blessing Bags” for the homeless, which includes things like sanitary products and water. We can’t wait to find new ways to give back to our community!
